If you’re looking for current benchmarks on career coaching fees, the US market gives you a broad but usable range. BetterUp places the common range between $75 and $250 per hour, and Indeed says many career coaching sessions average around $100 to $150.

The UK market spreads a little differently. LIR Coaching, which looked across several data points, places a broad average around £125 per hour for personal coaching, including career coaching, while also noting that lower priced coaches may sit closer to £50 and experienced coaches can easily move above £150. The gap is real because the gap in experience is real too.

This is where people start to ask how much do career coaches charge in one country versus another, or how much does a career coach cost if the coach works at an executive level. That is where the answer starts changing fast.

That’s why career coach pricing cannot be judged properly in isolation; you need context. You need to know whether the coach works with job seekers, mid-career professionals, founders, executives, or high-pressure leadership cases. All of those are different worlds.

But you aren’t the same person as everyone else, in the same career, with the same problem.

A lot of people begin by asking how much does a career coach cost for one session, because one session feels easier to control. It feels cleaner, lower risk, and easier to test before committing to anything bigger.

And sometimes that’s the right move. If you need quick interview prep, a resume review, a salary strategy, or a second opinion on one specific decision, a single session will give you useful traction fast.

Sometimes your looking to solve a deeper problem. That is where career coaching packages start to make more sense. As BetterUp explains, many coaches bundle support because career growth usually takes more than one conversation to shift properly, and Indeed makes a similar point when it notes that coaches often offer package deals for clients who need support across several sessions rather than one isolated hour.

At the lower end, career coach packages often begin with tactical, tightly scoped support. A recent pricing guide from Noomii gives a useful floor here, showing resume and interview preparation packages from about $175 to $650, while some general coaching packages also begin around $175.

The same Noomii guide says job search support packages often sit between $320 and $1,100, career change packages average around $320 to $1,300, and it even gives a concrete example of a four-session job search package at about $700. That is usually the zone where you are paying for focused, practical support around one immediate outcome rather than a broader repositioning of your career.

Then you move into the middle range, which is where coaching starts becoming much more relevant for serious professionals. In its broader article on hiring a career coach, Noomii explains that many coaches ask for a three to six month commitment, with the average total spend falling somewhere between $1,000 and $2,500. That range makes sense when the issue is no longer just your CV or interview answers, but your patterns, your confidence, your positioning, your decisions, and your ability to follow through over time.

In the UK, you can see the same structure very clearly. On her published pricing page, Nicola Simpson Executive Coaching lists an early-career package at £450, a three-session career coaching package at £650, a three-session executive coaching package at £900, a five-session executive package at £1,500, and a ten-session executive package at £2,600. That gives you a very clean example of how career coach pricing rises as the scope, seniority, and depth of the work rise.

At the higher end, longer and more immersive career coach packages start looking less like advice and more like structured professional repositioning. Alice Stapleton is a good example of that in the UK market. Focused multi-session job search or career transition support often sits in the $700 to $1,300 range, as Noomii’s pricing breakdown shows.

Ongoing monthly or multi-month coaching often lands between $1,000 and $2,500, which matches the broader market view described by Noomii. In the UK, executive and premium packages can move from about £900 to £2,600 through providers like Nicola Simpson, while longer-form structured career change programs can sit around £2,750 to £2,950 through providers like Alice Stapleton.

What I often see with clients is that people underestimate how much better the right package structure works when the issue is serious. If your problem is simple, one session may be enough. If your problem keeps repeating in different forms, career coach packages may work better for you to get to a solution faster, with less struggle.
